I have a client of 65 years of age with a spouse and DT Max is not calculating the right amount on line 18 of ON479 form, why is that?

DT Max is using $22,250 instead of $23,090 in the calculation of the amount on line 18.

This situation affects taxpayers of 65 years of age or older residing with a spouse or common-law partner for whom:

  • the net income for Ontario property and sales tax credits is over $22,250;
  • the correct calculation of line 19 of ON479 gives a positive amount.

As a workaround:

Use the keyword Override and enter the correct amount on line 479 of the federal jacket.
